Connect an AI assistant to HCode
HCode's hosted MCP server lets Claude and other MCP clients deploy, configure and troubleshoot your projects with the same operations and permissions as the API.

Claude Code
Install the HCode plugin. It connects the hosted MCP server and adds the hcode skill and the /hcode:deploy command, which teach Claude how HCode builds and runs apps. Nothing runs on your machine: every tool call goes to HCode.
/plugin marketplace add https://hcode.hostafrica.com/docs/mcp/plugin/marketplace.json /plugin install hcode@hostafrica
The plugin comes from this dashboard, so you don't need a GitHub account or git. You can also download it as a zip and load it with claude --plugin-dir hcode-claude-plugin.zip.
Then run /mcp, select plugin:hcode:hcode and sign in. If you added the server by hand before, Claude Code keeps using that entry instead of the plugin's, so remove it:
claude mcp remove hcode
Other clients
Add a remote MCP server with this URL, using the HTTP transport:
https://hcode.hostafrica.com/mcp
For Claude Code without the plugin:
claude mcp add --transport http hcode https://hcode.hostafrica.com/mcp
Sign in or use a key
Clients that support MCP sign-in open HCode in your browser, where you pick the organisation, the projects and the permissions. Standard automation selects everything needed to deploy and connect databases. Revoke a client from Integrations.
Clients that can't sign in send an API key as a bearer token. Include credential:read so the client can see which permissions it has.
A connection keeps the permissions it was given. When a tool says "Not available to this credential", revoke the client under Integrations and connect again, selecting the permission it names, or use a key that has it.
Tools
There are 79 tools, one for each API operation except log streams. Find them in the sidebar. Every client sees every tool; the ones its permissions don't allow say so in their description and name the permission they need. The MCP guide explains how they behave and the limits that apply.
