Your HCode service can be suspended from the HostAfrica client panel, for example when an invoice goes unpaid. A suspended organisation stops serving, and nobody in it can make changes until the service is active again. Your projects, databases and settings are kept.
What stops
When the suspension starts, HCode stops every app and database in the organisation:
- Each app and database is stopped. Its data stays where it is.
- Your domains stop routing to the apps. Visitors to a project's generated address see a page titled "This app is unavailable".
- Scheduled backups are skipped until the service is reinstated. The schedules themselves are kept.
What you see in the dashboard
Opening the organisation takes you to a page titled "Service suspended" that says "Deploys, restarts and other changes are blocked while this service is suspended. Contact support to find out why and how to restore it." From there you can click Contact support, Switch organisation if you belong to another one, or Personal account. Anyone other than the owner is also told "Your organisation owner can review the service in their HostAfrica client panel." Your personal account settings stay available.
Opening HCode from the HostAfrica client panel doesn't sign you in while the service is suspended. The sign-in page says "This organisation is not active right now. Check the service in your HostAfrica client panel, or contact support." Sign in with your email and HCode password instead.
What is refused
Every change to the organisation is refused while it is suspended, including deploys, starts, restarts, deletes and new projects. Pushes to GitHub don't deploy either.
API requests get HTTP 403 with the code org_suspended. A refusal starts nothing and isn't recorded against its Idempotency-Key, so you can repeat the same request with the same key once the service is active.
Getting access back
Settle the service in the HostAfrica client panel, or contact [email protected] if you don't know why it was suspended. When the service is reinstated, HCode starts every app and database that was running before the suspension and puts its domains back. Anything you had stopped yourself stays stopped, and scheduled backups pick up again at their next slot. Access to the dashboard returns as soon as every start has been accepted, so a single slow app doesn't keep you locked out.
If an app or database doesn't come back within 10 minutes, it is marked as failed with a reason, for example "Your app was started again after your account was reactivated, but it keeps stopping during start-up. Check its logs, fix the error and redeploy." When the problem is on HCode's side, the message says the team has been alerted and you don't need to do anything.
Terminated services
If the service has ended, the page is titled "Service terminated" and says "This service has ended. Contact support if you think this is a mistake." Write to [email protected].
